What Did the Dodge Jailbreak Edition Actually Unlock?
The 2022 Challenger Jailbreak wasn't just a trim level — it was Dodge removing its own factory ordering restrictions. Here's what it actually meant, what customization it enabled, and what the 807 HP version offered.

The Concept Behind Jailbreak
For most of the Challenger's production run, certain option combinations were restricted by Dodge's ordering system — specific colors could only pair with specific interior choices, certain wheel finishes were locked to specific packages, and stripe/caliper color combinations were pre-determined.
The 2022 Jailbreak edition removed those restrictions. The name referred to "breaking out" of the factory option matrix — owners could freely combine any available color, interior, wheel, caliper, stripe, and badging option regardless of the traditional constraints.
Who It Applied To
Jailbreak was available on:
- 2022 Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody
- 2022 Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody
It was not available on standard Hellcat, Scat Pack, or R/T models.
What You Could Customize
The Jailbreak package unlocked approximately 20 customization categories:
- Exterior color: Any Challenger color
- Interior color/material: 7 seat options including unique two-tone combinations
- Wheel finish: Any available wheel design in any available finish (chrome, machined, black, etc.)
- Stripe color: 6+ stripe color options, including exclusive Jailbreak colors
- Brake caliper color: 6 color options — red (standard), Brembo yellow, black, silver, white, and exclusive Jailbreak colors
- Exterior badge finish: 5 finishes including body color, gloss black, and chrome
- Steering wheel: 4 options
- Floor mats: Mopar or standard
- Seat belt color: Multiple options
The 807 HP Power
The Jailbreak Redeye Widebody included a revised powertrain calibration producing 807 HP — identical to the Super Stock's output. This was an increase from the standard Redeye's 797 HP, achieved through revised engine management software.
Why It Mattered
The Jailbreak represented Dodge's final creative flourish before the end of Challenger production. It was an acknowledgment that enthusiasts wanted maximum personalization — and it delivered exactly that.
Used Jailbreak Challengers command a premium over standard Redeye models, primarily for the unique color/equipment combinations that exist nowhere else. For collectors, the rarer combinations (unusual caliper/stripe/wheel combos) will likely appreciate over time as last-of-generation examples.
