What Size Tires Fit the Challenger Without Rubbing?

Factory and aftermarket tire size limits for narrowbody and widebody Challengers — with and without spacers.

What Size Tires Fit the Challenger Without Rubbing?

Factory Tire Sizes by Trim

Trim Front Rear
V6 / R/T 245/45R20 245/45R20
Scat Pack (narrowbody) 275/40R20 275/40R20
Widebody (Scat Pack/Hellcat) 305/35R20 305/35R20

What Can You Fit on a Narrowbody?

With stock wheels and no spacers:

  • Up to 275/40R20 front and rear — fits cleanly
  • 285/40R20 rear — possible with minor trimming of the inner liner

With 20x10 rear wheels:

  • 305/35R20 rear fits with minimal or no modification on most builds
  • May contact the quarter panel liner under full compression; trimming the liner resolves this

With 20x11 rear wheels:

  • 315/35R20 rear fits with liner trimming and mild camber
  • Requires care — check compression clearance before daily driving

Widebody Fitment

The widebody fenders add ~3.5 inches of width per side. Factory 305s run with room to spare. Aftermarket sizes:

  • 315/35R20: fits cleanly
  • 325/30R20: fits with proper wheel offset
  • 335/30R20: fits on 20x11+ wheels with correct offset

Wheel Offset Matters

Offset (ET) determines how far in or out the wheel sits. Too much positive offset (wheel too far inboard) causes rubbing on the strut. Too much negative offset (wheel pokes out) causes fender contact.

Narrowbody target offsets:

  • Front: ET+20 to ET+28
  • Rear: ET+18 to ET+25

Widebody adds room for negative offset:

  • Front: ET+15 to ET+25
  • Rear: ET+10 to ET+20

Rubbing Situations to Watch

  1. Full steering lock + bump: Front inner liner contact
  2. Hard compression with wide rear: Quarter panel liner
  3. Coilover drop + wide wheel: Reduced clearance at all positions

Always test slowly on rough surfaces before committing to a tire/wheel combo on a lowered car.
