- Aftermarket camshafts are incompatible with stock MDS lifters. Installing a cam without non-MDS lifters will cause lifter failure and engine damage.
ConflictMDS Delete Plugs — When MDS lifters are removed, MDS delete plugs must seal the oil galleries that previously fed them. Skipping this drops oil pressure and starves the engine.
ConflictECU Tune — Cam swaps change idle, fuel, and timing requirements. Stock ECU calibration cannot run an aftermarket cam safely.
