What Does This Do?

BBK's shorty headers are the practical choice for HEMI owners who want header gains without the complexity of long tubes. 'Shorty' means the primary tubes are shorter and the collectors end where the factory manifolds do — so they bolt directly to your existing mid-pipes and cat-back exhaust. No matching mid-pipe purchase needed. The 1-5/8" primaries are a good size for the 5.7 L and work well on the 6.4 L too. You'll see about half the HP gains of long tubes (15-20 HP vs 25-40 HP), but the install is easier and you maintain more flexibility with your exhaust setup. Still requires a tune for full benefit.

Why Install This?

Benefits

  • Incremental gains that stack well with other bolt-on mods
  • Headers are one of the best power-per-dollar exhaust upgrades
  • Long tubes offer more power but are harder to install; shorty headers are easier but give less gain

Things to Know

  • Long tube headers typically require a tune for best results
  • May affect emissions compliance depending on your state
  • Professional installation recommended — requires specialty tools or expertise
